Our mission is to help home and car owners achieve energy independence and save money — while reducing their impact on the climate. We believe that by making electrification simple and accessible, we can empower people to take control of their energy costs and build a more sustainable future for the next generation.

Cogo was founded in 2016, after operating for 6 years under the 'Conscious Consumers' brand. It was born from the belief that people, technology and data can fundamentally change the world for good. What started as a platform connecting conscious consumers with sustainable businesses has evolved into a climate technology company serving some of the world's leading financial institutions.
Today, we work across four offices in London, Wellington, Sydney, and Toronto. We partner with institutions like Westpac, Kiwibank, ASB, and Genesis Energy in New Zealand, and NatWest and ING internationally, helping their customers through our Carbon Insights and Electrification platforms.

Ben Gleisner is an economist, environmentalist, and social entrepreneur. A Victoria University of Wellington graduate, Ben founded Cogo because he believes in the power of people, technology and data to fundamentally change the world for good.
Under his leadership, Cogo has grown from a New Zealand startup into a global climate technology company, partnering with major financial institutions across four continents to drive measurable climate impact at scale.

Ben didn't just build the platform - he lived it. After years of helping banks and energy companies guide their customers toward cleaner energy choices, he decided to go all-in on electrifying his own home and vehicle. Solar panels, a heat pump for heating and hot water, an EV - the full transformation.
The result? A household running almost entirely on clean energy, with estimated savings of nearly $4,500 a year. It's this first-hand experience that shapes Cogo's product - built by someone who genuinely understands the journey, the trade-offs, and the savings that come from making the switch.
