We are a group of passionate people who believe the purchasing power of 'conscious consumers' can transform the way business operate and create positive change in our world. Building a cool, simple to use platform which creates and informs meaningful sustainable business actions is what gets us out of bed each morning. Measuring and sharing the collective impact the CoGo community is having on global issues comes a pretty close second. 

Our global team is based in London (UK) and Wellington (NZ).

Ben Gleisner,  CEO & Co-Founder  📍London  Ben is an economist, environmentalist and social entrepreneur. He has founded several businesses and charities, and worked for 6 years at the New Zealand Treasury - where he lead the development of the Living Standards Framework. He co-founded CoGo while working at the New Zealand Treasury, and has grown the social enterprise to a thriving New Zealand movement with over 20,000 consumer members and 500 business customers. His vision is a world where consumers and businesses work together for the good of people and the planet. Ben has recently moved to London with his wife and two children, to launch the platform in the UK.  “I started this company with a mission to fundamentally change the world for the better. I firmly believe there are hundreds of millions of people that want to do their bit to create a better future. CoGo will be the platform that makes that easy and helps people see the difference they are making. Let’s CoGo!”

Darren Ball , CPO  📍London  Darren is our interim Chief Product Officer, responsible for developing our MVP into a compelling value proposition for UK businesses and consumers.  He has been working in mobile product roles since 2013, with a focus on market research, market strategy, product strategy and MVP product development.  “Technology should be about making a positive difference at scale and that's why I love CoGo!"

He has been working in mobile product roles since 2013, with a focus on market research, market strategy, product strategy and MVP product development.

Ele Ward,  UK Market Manager  📍London  With a degree in Social Anthropology, Ele started her career in brand marketing within the FMCG sector where she led campaigns across EMEA markets. Ele is also a sustainable fashion expert having set up her own platform in 2016 to campaign for a fair and transparent fashion industry. Brian Spurling,  Head of Data  📍London  Brian is CoGo’s Head of Data, responsible for the designing (and sometimes building) the data plumbing that underpins the app. That means working with accreditation organisations to acquire and enrich their hugely valuable datasets, and then finding imaginative ways to match that up with our users' spend data. With nearly 20 years experience working with some of the top advertising agencies including Ogivly, M&C Saacthi, Dare Digital etc. She brings a wealth of experience and skills to the CoGo team as Product UX & UI Lead. Before coming on board at CoGo, Jen was working with the Data & Insights Team at HSBC. And after several years of working with Fintech and Financial companies, Jen feels perfectly at home here at CoGo.

Michael Smith,  Lead Developer  📍London  Michael is responsible for planning and implementing the technical tasks behind the mobile app to make sure our users have the best experience possible. Julian Gommans,  Frontend Developer  📍Wellington  Julian is an intermediate-senior front end developer with some experience working in backends. He has worked with several small businesses and startups in his career and developed in a wide range of coding languages, focusing on javascript throughout. He has a passion for improving environmental conditions, equality and rationality wherever he can.

Mike is the founder of Seize, a specialty food business based in Wellington. He has previously worked in marketing roles growing brands in FMCG and as a Finance Analyst in a Private Equity owned firm. He is passionate about building businesses from the ground up, taking a technology-driven approach to products, design-led strategies, and building long term community value. Mike has been on the Board of CoGo since 2016 as a nominated director of CoGo's largest shareholder, the charity 42collective.
