We owe it to future generations to leave them a sustainable and fairer world and our goal is to help everyone better understand how their spending affects the climate crisis. But to do this in time to save the planet, we need to affect change at scale. And this is why we work with financial institutions - so we can reach their millions of collective customers and drive change on a global level.

From our beginnings as ‘Conscious Consumers’ in 2011, we’re very proud of our progression and hopeful for what the future holds. Take a look at our timeline to see the major events on our journey.
We believe that in order to solve sustainability challenges like the climate crisis and to drive positive impact in the world, we need to recognise the problems that frame these challenges, and know how we can best contribute. Our work needs to be laser-focused, collaborative, and at-scale.

Our Impact Model outlines how we go about bringing our mission to life, by creating positive impact in the world. Not only that, it helps us to track our progress and to stay true to our values.
Through Cogo, businesses and consumers are connecting to take action on climate change. The positive impact that our platform is enabling is real and measurable and we've got the numbers to prove it.
At Cogo we’re not just focused on generating shared impact with our customers. We’re also a business striving to act more sustainably in its operations.

Our carbon footprint for 2023-2024 was 50t CO2e (comprising our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions), and we are a Toitū Carbon Reduce certified organisation. We have set targets to reduce our Scope 1 + 2 + 3 emissions intensity (by revenue) by 50% by 2030, and by 90% by 2050, aligned with the latest 1.5ºC pathway guidance. Cogo is also a NZ Climate Leaders’ Coalition signatory.

As a climate-focused tech business we're aware that a big part of our carbon footprint is out of sight, and linked to cloud-based tech service providers. We are helping to raise awareness about the indirect impact of cloud-based services on carbon emissions, and to encourage more tech companies to account for this.

We also partner with some incredible organisations who are waving the flag for business with purpose, including the BCorp and Living Wage movements. Cogo has been a Certified B Corporation since 2019, and is a Living Wage certified employer in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
